One man dead after ambush by shooters in Richmond

RICHMOND In Richmond s second homicide this year multiple shooters ambushed a -year-old man Friday night killing him in the street according to police The shooters whom police had not identified by Saturday shot and killed a man named Jerry Williams according to agents Williams was reportedly walking on Lincoln Avenue when a truck approached him and several persons of interest got out of the car and opened fire at him At least two dozen shots triggered a ShotSpotter gunshot detector at about p m Friday near th Street and Lincoln Avenue according to executives Williams reportedly ran north through Triangle Court and collapsed in the block of Lincoln Avenue Police mentioned responding officers revealed they detected Williams suffering from multiple gunshot wounds He died at the scene police revealed Police reported no arrests had been made in the shooting In June police arrested arrested a -year-old Richmond woman Terri James on suspicion of murder in the city s first homicide which left a man bleeding on a sidewalk near Region Avenue and th Street Anyone with information regarding Friday night s shooting is inquired to contact Detective J Guzman at - - Staff writer Nate Gartrell contributed to this review
